Lydia has significant experience in both the private and public sectors.As a former elected county Collector of Revenue, she practices in the firm’s political law practice, where she advises and represents elected officials on a variety of matters, including best practices, required reporting, and regulatory and statutory compliance. She also advises candidates and campaigns regarding public policy and election laws. In addition, Lydia practices in the areas of business law and property law.She has helped business clients in a variety of matters, including tax sale investment and due diligence, distressed real estate transactions, employment law and HR consultation, economic development, entrepreneur legal challenges, landlord-tenant law, business formation, best practices, audit defense consultation, and drafting documents of general interest such as deeds, business formation, wills, and contracts. Lydia enjoys the courtroom—when it is necessary.

During law school, Lydia was a published member of the Law Review, a decorated moot court champion, and completed an internship with the ArmyJAG Corps. She practiced law in the private sector for several years,f ocusing on labor relations, real estate, and economic development.Returning to private practice after more than a decade in public service, her practice in recent years has focused on the areas discussed above. In addition, she has a consulting company that offers support to Missouri county elected officials. Lydia has presented continuing legal education a local bar association, has previously presented for National Tax LienAssociation, holds the Certified Tax Lien Professional™ and IntermediateGovernment Accounting certifications, and teaches Business Law, EmploymentLaw, and Real Estate Law for Johnson County Community College.Lydia is an active member of a non-denominational church where she sings on the worship team and paints religious art. She has been married since 1999and has a son and two daughters. She loves to play the piano and ride her motorcycle—but not at the same time. Lydia’s mission in life is to offer access to justice and to level the playing field for everyone participating in a transaction with government.
