PathGuide Law Secures $9.3 Million Verdict for Business Client in Contract Dispute

June 19, 2026

What happens when a business relationship breaks down after years of investment, work, and reliance on promises that were not honored? What can a company do when a deal involved time, resources, and expected ownership interests, but the other side fails to follow through?

PathGuide Law recently secured a $9.3 million jury verdict for business client ElDo Organic, LLC in a breach-of-contract case following nearly four years of litigation and a two-week jury trial in Clay County, Missouri.

The case, *ElDo Organic, LLC v. Astro Farms Alpha LLC et al.*, Case No. 22CY-CV03887, was tried in the Circuit Court of Clay County, Missouri. The jury returned its verdict on February 26, 2026.

Trial Victory After Years of Business Litigation

The dispute involved a business arrangement between the parties, including investment, resources, and promised membership interests in several related companies. After extensive discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation, the case proceeded to a two-week jury trial.

At trial, the jury heard evidence concerning the parties’ business relationship, the commitments made, and the harm ElDo Organic suffered when those commitments were not honored.

After considering the evidence, the jury found in favor of ElDo Organic on claims for breach of contract, promissory estoppel, and unjust enrichment. The verdict represented a complete trial victory for ElDo Organic.

Why Business Contract Disputes Require Careful Trial Preparation

Commercial litigation is rarely simple. Business disputes often involve years of communications, financial records, ownership documents, performance history, and competing accounts of what the parties agreed to do.

In a contract dispute, the written agreement may only be part of the story. The case may also involve promises, reliance, investments made in expectation of a business outcome, and the value one party received from another’s work or resources.

That is why trial preparation matters. By the time a business dispute reaches a jury, the legal team must be ready to explain complex facts clearly, connect the evidence to the claims, and help the jury understand what was promised, what was done, and what damages resulted.

PathGuide Law’s Trial Team

ElDo Organic was represented at trial by PathGuide Law attorney Kevin Corlew, who served as lead counsel, along with M. Cory Nelson of MCN Law.

The $9.3 million verdict reflects the jury’s decision after hearing the evidence presented during trial. For PathGuide Law, the result also reflects the firm’s commitment to helping business clients protect their interests when important agreements, investments, and ownership rights are at stake.
